This is a good review of complexity. My question is: how do we avoid allowing the very consciousness of complexity to paralyze us?

I too struggle with this question. I get overwhelmed by complexity sometimes and feel unable to address whatever the issue is. It depends partly on the issue. I try to start somewhere by identifying some multiple and dynamic parts. You don't necessarily have to deal with all the parts of a complex issue all at once. And in some cases, we won't get to all of the parts. But acknowledging and grappling with complexity can lead to new insights and new directions for action, and thereby hopefully ward off paralysis.

Next week, we'll get into systems theory which can help with this issue. And in a few weeks, I'll suggest some practical tips for thinking about complexity from a systems perspective. So STAY TUNED!!

Does anyone else have ideas about this question? Please help Sam to avoid paralysis!

Thanks to everyone who read today. I received a report that Safari does not recognize this Comment link. I don't know what the issue is. I'll look into it.
